I finally got the Twilight book from my bloggy friend, FarOutMom. I finished it yesterday morning... sneaking the final chapter in before running Andrew to school.Truthfully, I struggled through the middle a bit. It got to be a little much of the, "I love you more. No, I love you more" feel. Plus, I might have had extremely HIGH expectations from everyone raving about it.
However, when the action started near the final third, I found myself not wanting to put it down. Overall, I enoyed it and I plan on reading the next one.... hopefully soon. (I have it on hold at the library).
I agree with the too much love you stuff. And the overwhelming sense that Edward was just soooo perfect was a bit much. But I enjoyed the series a lot. I think the last book, Breaking Dawn, is by far the best book in the series. Have fun with it.
ReplyDeleteI almost didn't read the rest of the series Twilight. Not that it wasn't good, but I just thought it would be more of the same gooey love. New Moon takes a surprising twist.
ReplyDeleteAlso, on Stephenie Myer's website you can read 12 chapters of Midnight Sun, which is Edwards side of Twilight.

oH! Amie, thank you for the link! Now I have something to check out while waiting for New Moon (I think that's the next one) to come in at the library.
ReplyDeleteI felt a bit the same with the first book. The second one was a little slow for me too, but good. It is definitely a necessary part of the story. Don't quit...the last two books are hard to put down.
ReplyDeleteI agree.... the lovely dovey stuff was a bit much but then again, these books are geared towards high schoolers... and they probably like that kind of thing! :) But at any rate.... KEEP reading!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, but first... come to my house tonight to pick up the read of the books! ;)
