I would cry if I had to do this. No joke... I don't teach math this way, but I have seen some of the new stuff and am amazed at how different it is. Do you understand it?
I do understand it, but I admit, I have to look over it a couple times before I figure out half of what he's doing. Plus, they get instructions at school, so none are written on the sheets. Mom & Dad get to figure it out on our own. I get it... it's just weird.
i remember when Sebastian brought this home a few years ago. i just sat there staring at it thinking, 'HOW is this math? did numbers go out of style or what?' *sigh* i guess it works okay, since my kids DO understand numbers now, but for real, i'm still not at all sure what the benefit of this exercise was/is/ever will be???
