Truthfully, I struggled through the middle a bit. It got to be a little much of the, "I love you more. No, I love you more" feel. Plus, I might have had extremely HIGH expectations from everyone raving about it.
However, when the action started near the final third, I found myself not wanting to put it down. Overall, I enoyed it and I plan on reading the next one.... hopefully soon. (I have it on hold at the library).

I agree with the too much love you stuff. And the overwhelming sense that Edward was just soooo perfect was a bit much. But I enjoyed the series a lot. I think the last book, Breaking Dawn, is by far the best book in the series. Have fun with it.
I almost didn't read the rest of the series Twilight. Not that it wasn't good, but I just thought it would be more of the same gooey love. New Moon takes a surprising twist.
Also, on Stephenie Myer's website you can read 12 chapters of Midnight Sun, which is Edwards side of Twilight.

oH! Amie, thank you for the link! Now I have something to check out while waiting for New Moon (I think that's the next one) to come in at the library.
I felt a bit the same with the first book. The second one was a little slow for me too, but good. It is definitely a necessary part of the story. Don't quit...the last two books are hard to put down.
I agree.... the lovely dovey stuff was a bit much but then again, these books are geared towards high schoolers... and they probably like that kind of thing! :) But at any rate.... KEEP reading!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, but first... come to my house tonight to pick up the read of the books! ;)
